You Don't Owe Your Parents Shit If You Didn't Ask To Be Born

The common Nigerian never aspires to stupendous wealth

They don't see themselves as becoming a billionaire or even more

No, they can't fathom that

It's beyond their vision

They don't count in billions and millions

They count in tens and units

Noble Igwe made a tweet some weeks back, saying kids don't owe their parents anything!

But because we don't think

The common man in Nigeria don't think, they came at him with their ordinary forks and spoons

The only tool they know how to use, especially in eating indomie and onions

Eggs are a luxury for these sorts

When I agreed with him then and right now, stating my opinions

They came at me too

Called me names as they are wont to do

Their primary line of defense was as weak as the illusion of a progressive one Nigeria!

 Sacrifice and honor!!!

They bleated

My parents sacrificed for me and my siblings so I must honor them

My father left us so my mother suffered and raised us alone, I must honor her

My mother died...so my father trained us alone

Now I must honor him

I must hawk and feed him

I must fuck and feed her

I must steal and feed her

Like you begged and chose to be born!!!

The worst are the parents, who demand so much from their kids especially the female children, knowing fully well that they don't own businesses or work in oil companies

I have female friends who have been bruised and bent so low by pressure and responsibilities from their parents and family, they literally kiss the ground and scratch it with their artificial nails just to survive!

They are not the first child nor second, but because they have the golden boobs and ass, they are crowned Messiah of the family

A family with grown ass men, will be depending on a girl for it's survival!!!

These same daughters you flogged mercilessly for standing with boys

These same girls you forbade from having male friends

These same daughters you locked up like prisoners to keep them from boys

Suddenly, in your old age and their youth, you expect them to bring millions for you from these same boys!!!

You know what they are doing and not doing!!!!

You know they don't have a job yet!

You know they are still just students, paying their own fees because you can't!

You know fully well that the same pussy you were safeguarding with your wrapper and gele, is the source of the income you are so desperately demanding!

Now, you don't care

You just want to eat today so you swallow your kids tomorrow!

So I made my opinion and the only thing these common folks could say to me is...

"Don't worry, old age is coming soon"

"Your time is coming too"

Can you tell Dangote, old age is coming?

Or Otedola, your time is coming?

Or Alakija, Genevieve, Linda Ikeji....

They will tell you...let it come

These are parents who look at old age and say...I am coming!!!

These are parents who planned for their old age

They don't need a reminder

They are prepared for it

Their children are not their investment opportunities or pension plans

They are their kids own business plan and investments

Dangote is his kids inheritance

These are parents who are leaving an inheritance, an empire for their kids

Not the hungry, lazy, idle average ones who waste their youth breeding like rabbits

Hoping and gambling, one of the rabbits will get the Proverbial carrot and feed the clan

Work hard now and have something to leave for your kids.

They don't owe you anything like Noble Igwe said

But you, you brought them to this world, so the least you can do is to give them an inheritance that would last them a lifetime.

Solomon's Lair!

Rated 18 Solomon's lair  I almost refused to go for the birthday party this year. Solomon always hosted a party every year, and as usual, I always gave the opening speech and acted as the MC too. I hated the drama and fake smiles all around. Each year, new faces present, old faces absent. New Friends present, Old friends lost, only me stagnant. I was always present as the best friend, the loyal soldier, meanwhile I was notoriously known for not celebrating my own birthday. It was so bad that most of my friends didn't even know my date of birth, just my age. Yes, it was that bad! It was an exhausting exercise for me. The cake and speeches, by God I hated the hypocrisy. So this year I swore to him by the old gods and new, that I wasn't gonna be in the spotlight of his special day. I just wanted to drink and chill quietly in solitude. Surprisingly, without any fuss, he obliged me. ''Obi is now a man o'' I smiled. ...

Riotous Love

I have always found Tony, my boyfriend, fascinating His write-ups and rants about bad governance and patriarchy got me wet and awestruck every single time I visited his timeline  Whenever he wrote a piece on Facebook and Twitter, he got thousands of likes and comments I always read every comment, especially from women who were mesmerized by his writing prowess I was once part of such women until I decided to shoot my shot, and, like cupid, I hit him straight in the heart A simple "Hello, I've read and enjoyed all your stories, maybe you could write ours someday, hope I'm not overreaching?" I had to drink almost a full bottle of bailey's to find courage for that stunt, and today, we are celebrating 8 months of the best love story ever. He was my Mr. Perfect, everything I could ever ask for and more It wasn't surprising when he asked me to join him and go for the peaceful protest here in Lagos, and like a love-struck puppy, quickly I jumped up and said yes That ...
