Classroom education is a scam...invest in Imagination not Education

Regurgitating academic timetable, repetitive tests and brain draining classroom activities are elements of an artificial intelligence that we cannot compete against.

Instead of investing so much time, making students become robots, we should rather expand and stretch their minds to be creative and innovative.

Encourage that child to be curious.

To dream and to imagine instead of cramming and reading textbooks they won't use in the future.

Don't flog that child because she/he scored zero in maths test, or poorly in science subjects.

Don't shout, berate or throw that child into a state of depression because she/he didn't score 10/10 in a task that has no bearing on the future of the child.

The classroom system is a scam, that's why it keeps churning out half baked, unprepared and aloof graduates who have no idea what to do when they leave the four walls of the classroom.

It's not because they are dumb or average, it's the approach and style. It worked in the past, the agro and industrial era but this is a new era, a new dawn...a technological revolution!

Classroom and textbooks style of teaching won't do shit in a smart and technological world.

Don't lead them from the four walls of the classroom to the four walls of a cellblock. They might not end up in prison literally but their mind will, literally speaking.

It's not education they need, but unadulterated imagination.

Nobody cares about how many references you can quote or texts you can recite from a textbook, if you like cram an entire textbook, you can't do it better than Google, because we have Google and Wikipedia, you can't compete with those.

We care about how you can apply creativity to solve real time world problems innovatively.

Don't beat that child for fixing toys when they should be copying homework from a text book.

Don't judge that child because she/he would rather play and explore the insides of an insect or a machine, than read what the teacher copied in a test book your great grand father used.

Don't scold and tear that child's playbook because instead of reading textbook, they are developing fairytale characters.

The classroom system is a scam, it has failed and keeps failing.

In the future, Jobs are becoming automated, therefore the traditional classroom style of learning that involves manual and repetitive test with regurgitated examinations will not win the war that artificial intelligence is bringing.

To stand a chance, we must evolve the human mind because no amount of artificial intelligence can compete with the raw and strong unadulterated human mind. More powerful than the Strongest machine.

Creativity and an innovative spirit is the arsenal we need, therefore we must feed it with ideas and resources not kill it with continuous classroom tests and exasperating exams.

We don't need long hours of learning and note copying.

We need a healthy environment and atmosphere to think and imagine.

We don't need uniform and cane to adhere and conform.

We need freedom and love to be different and crazy.

Don't beat that child because she/he failed or scored zero in class...
Don't beat that child because they broke a glass cup or plate...
Don't beat them because they didn't eat the meal you packed for them...
Don't beat them because they begged to taste the meal of their classmate...it's curiosity

Give them space, personal space to build their own pace.

What a child needs, isn't good grades but a healthy relationship.

Pay more attention and focus on your relationship with them and not on coming first, second or tops in class.

Don't beat them, Feed them...not with food only, but love, support and care.

The result card is not the true test of a child's intelligence. It is a scam!

Companies don't care about your certificate anymore but your "sabificate."

If you want your child to have a future in the coming future, arm them with the right tools and weapons to compete in the futuristic world, because the answer is never inside a textbook.

The answer is in the mind.

Invest in imagination not education.

Solomon's Lair!

Rated 18 Solomon's lair  I almost refused to go for the birthday party this year. Solomon always hosted a party every year, and as usual, I always gave the opening speech and acted as the MC too. I hated the drama and fake smiles all around. Each year, new faces present, old faces absent. New Friends present, Old friends lost, only me stagnant. I was always present as the best friend, the loyal soldier, meanwhile I was notoriously known for not celebrating my own birthday. It was so bad that most of my friends didn't even know my date of birth, just my age. Yes, it was that bad! It was an exhausting exercise for me. The cake and speeches, by God I hated the hypocrisy. So this year I swore to him by the old gods and new, that I wasn't gonna be in the spotlight of his special day. I just wanted to drink and chill quietly in solitude. Surprisingly, without any fuss, he obliged me. ''Obi is now a man o'' I smiled. ...

Riotous Love

I have always found Tony, my boyfriend, fascinating His write-ups and rants about bad governance and patriarchy got me wet and awestruck every single time I visited his timeline  Whenever he wrote a piece on Facebook and Twitter, he got thousands of likes and comments I always read every comment, especially from women who were mesmerized by his writing prowess I was once part of such women until I decided to shoot my shot, and, like cupid, I hit him straight in the heart A simple "Hello, I've read and enjoyed all your stories, maybe you could write ours someday, hope I'm not overreaching?" I had to drink almost a full bottle of bailey's to find courage for that stunt, and today, we are celebrating 8 months of the best love story ever. He was my Mr. Perfect, everything I could ever ask for and more It wasn't surprising when he asked me to join him and go for the peaceful protest here in Lagos, and like a love-struck puppy, quickly I jumped up and said yes That ...
