Make them Art lovers not Noise Makers

#Wordstreet

Listen Nigerian parents, it's festive season, spoil your kids and take them to the movies to see a cartoon or an animated movie.

Mowgli is showing
Spiderman into the spider-verse is on
The Grinch is there
Sherlock Gnomes is available

Lots of newly released cartoons and movies kids would love to watch.

Mr Biggs and Chicken republic will not kill you if you don't visit them this year.

Give them a treat and a great time with something wonderful. I know these stories have been told over and over but trust me, Disney, DC Comics and Marvel will make you feel like you are just seeing them for the first time!

That's called magic creation.

Creating magic over and over again from the same element is a skill only artists with the stew are capable of accomplishing. Sadly Nigerian directors lack the sauce.

Don't allow Nigeria make you a Nigerian, be a person that loves art. Fuck AfricanMagic and dance with AmericanWonder!

Yes, change infact remove that station, that nonsense AfricanMagic if you want your children to dream. Nollywood kills our children's dreams and imaginations replacing them with a mediocre reality and common nightmare.

If you love your children's imagination and intellect, if you want them to dream and aspire to inspire and perspire to conspire then keep them away from Nollywood outdated content. Common is a disease and it kills slowly like HIV.

Feeding their young minds with old witches tale and unrealistic love stories over and over and over and over and over and over and over is not suitable for a child under 16.

Deny that child a platform to create magic and see that child fail to aspire to inspire and perspire to conspire anything, anything at all!

It's no Joke
This is fact!

Initiate them to AmericanWonder and deliver them from the shackles of AfricanMagic. Don't get me wrong, this is not the time to argue about white supremacy and black culture, this has nothing to do with that. This is art, real imaginative art pure and simple!

Give your children virtual reality, give them futuristic tales not tales by moonlight. It's time to stop staring at the moon and reach for the stars, send them to space not kitchen and toilet to wash and clean.

Let them discover the right platform to explore their active imaginations and dreams, allow them to fantasize and be intellectual giants not subdued/controlled machines, give them the freedom to be controversial, dynamic and loud with their thinking.

Then after you have given them the magic wand to conjure mysteries, buy them Harry potter books, Lord of the Rings,Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series Cloak society, The Uncommoners, The Underland Chronicles,The Dark Is Rising,The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, and read them yourselves too so you won't have that stupid mentality of it being evil and likely to initiate them to witchcraft.

For our children to compete and thrive they need magic not religion only, they need fantasies not fasting, they need wonder not miracles.

Imagination is the new revelation, support them and see changes in their lives and future!

The world has evolved beyond Husband's of Lagos and meet the Adebanjos!

Its 2019 in a second and we are still in 1999 making shit!

Now let me make this clear, America is not paradise, far from it, she probably is as old and evil as our ancestors and leaders but Hollywood is a totally different America, that is their stew and e dey pepper for eye, the sweet kind.

Nollywood is supposed to be our own stew but it lacks sauce.

While Hollywood has kept us in trance for centuries, Nollywood has kept us in shame for years.

Imagination is life
Art is the craft that brings imagination within our grasp.

Make your children Art makers not just Noise makers.

Children need to know and believe in it, they need to be aware and embrace this culture more than their fear of witches and mystical creatures.

They need to dream, and to do that they need to start dreaming their own dreams and not the one their parents, relatives, guardians and friends are creating for them. They must aspire to inspire and perspire to conspire!

In simpler words they need to have a sense of identity carved from a rich awareness and understanding of themselves first and the power of their imagination.

I repeat children need to aspire to inspire and perspire to conspire beyond greeting their elders and prostrating for titles.

Please I don't even know what aspire to inspire and perspire to conspire means, I just wanted to add something that sounded heavy and smart so maybe you all will think I'm smart too. Thank you for aspiring to inspire... Infact never mind.

Solomon's Lair!

Rated 18 Solomon's lair  I almost refused to go for the birthday party this year. Solomon always hosted a party every year, and as usual, I always gave the opening speech and acted as the MC too. I hated the drama and fake smiles all around. Each year, new faces present, old faces absent. New Friends present, Old friends lost, only me stagnant. I was always present as the best friend, the loyal soldier, meanwhile I was notoriously known for not celebrating my own birthday. It was so bad that most of my friends didn't even know my date of birth, just my age. Yes, it was that bad! It was an exhausting exercise for me. The cake and speeches, by God I hated the hypocrisy. So this year I swore to him by the old gods and new, that I wasn't gonna be in the spotlight of his special day. I just wanted to drink and chill quietly in solitude. Surprisingly, without any fuss, he obliged me. ''Obi is now a man o'' I smiled. ...

I hate my Job

Warning: Strong adult content 18+ I hate my job My boss, Miss Patricia, is a tyrant 40+, beautiful angelic face and even more perfect body, with a lovely smile, that she hardly uses, single mom of two beautiful teenage girls, whose pictures are hung everywhere in our offices. While her exterior is sweet and beautiful, her interior is dark and evil. Always barking orders at the rest of us, like children, her voice is so loud you wonder where she has the energy to scream in such a high note all the damn time She is so feared, her car horn is enough to immediately drown whatever noise or laughter is coming from the entire building The popular saying among us, her staff members, is that the fear of Patricia's horn is the beginning of wisdom I spent years searching for a job in the streets of Lagos, begging even, embarrassed by security men and spat at by lousy and saucy receptionists, to quit this one just like that. We die here! I was prepared to eat shit for as long as I could, so I ...
